Church Party - Branding and Identity
Are an up and coming hardcore pop psychedelic rock band from Manchester, a formation of talented musicians slaving away in the studio. Currently performing gigs in and around Manchester, have a listen to their Soundcloud and keep an eye out for recordings next year.
Branding
I've really enjoyed creating the branding and identity for Church Party, this is something I'm looking forward to following as the band continues to gain popularity. We've just released two t-shirts and a taster video, so keep your eyes peeled for E.P artwork and Soundcloud drops!
Promotional Material
I recently shot a photo shoot for the band in rural cheshire. We went to a factory in my home town that has been abandoned for over 40 years and was used in world war two for manufacturing. These photographs came out much better than expected thanks to some handy props and a bit of luck. We used Paraffin to light a circle of fire on the floor to set the scene, and managed to catch the sun coming through a crack in the roof. We wanted a set of photographs that fitted church parties music and the rays of light just helped to emphasise the tone of voice we wanted to achieve.
Rainbow Mist T-shirt
I designed this t-shirt for Church party early this summer to celebrate one of their singles Rainbow Mist. I wanted to take things back to basics and work with no boundaries. I began to work on paper but set myself some rules and began to work digitally. 10 minutes, You can only use your mouse and you can only use two colours. I repeated this process around 5-6 times, thinking quickly, and acting upon my initial instincts. I showed the band my results, they loved the design below and we took it through to print. This will probably be the fasted produced bit of design I will ever let goto print!
Church Party Ink
As the band are all close members and feel their band means a lot to them, the Drummer Mike asked me to draw him up a Church Party Tattoo. Based around their crucifix logo, as seen in the posters below, mike wanted the tattoo to be angular and simple. He wanted to express the rough and ready approach of the band so I worked in a quite naive grungy fashion and ended up with the result below.
Promotional Material Summer 2015
To celebrate the band launching their e.p I'll be designing and printing the gig posters and t-shirts to run with their album dropping. Further to this the CD sleeves and other promotional material. Below is a sneak peak of whats to come...
